Abstract
Potash ores are formed into a pulp with a saturated aqueous solution of the soluble ore constituents, a polyglycol or an ether thereof is distributed in the pulp as a slime control agent, a collecting agent for sylvite is distributed in the pulp and the mixture is subjected to separation treatment, e.g. froth flotation, skin flotation, or agglomeration tabling. Prior to this treatment, the ore may be subjected to mechanical desliming. The collecting agent may be an aliphatic amine of at least 8 carbon atoms or a soluble salt thereof.
