Abstract
726,857. Copy-grinding. FISCHER AKT.- GES., G. April 23, 1953 [Dec. 30, 1952], No. 11227/53. Class 60. [Also in Group XXII] A copying machine tool for producing turbine blades comprises a guide member 9 which is pivoted about an axis transverse to the parallel axes of the blade 5 and a template 4 to effect the feed, the tool 20 being carried on a slide 12 which is moved parallel to a feeler slide 13. The slides 12, 13 are linked by rack-and-pinion gearing 15-19 and are biased towards the blade and template by springs 21, 22 or by mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic or electrical means. The blade and template are rotated by a single motor. In a grinding machine, the blade 66, Fig. 5, is machined by a wheel 73 on a slide 76 controlled by a cam 69, and a wheel 98 on a slide 99 controlled by a cam 94. The latter wheel is withdrawn during the inoperative half revolution of the blade by a cam 108 controlling a slide 113. The grinding wheels are rotated by motors 74, 100, the cam and work shafts 68, 70, 92 and 109 are rotated by a further motor and the guide members 80, 102 are rocked by a fourth motor driving the worm wheels 90, 118. The machines may be modified to machine several blades simultaneously. The concave cams and withdrawal cams may be combined in a single member.
