Abstract
726,205. Optical projection apparatus. F. R. CORPORATION. Jan. 12, 1953, No. 905/53. Class 97 (1). Portable apparatus comprises a box-like bottom part containing a projection device and, on the front end wall, a mirror which reflects the light beam to form an image on a screen contained in the lid of the casing, the lid carrying a pair of downwardly extending forked members each having a rear arm with an opening to receive a hinge pin carried by the bottom part near the rear thereof to provide a hinged mounting for the lid and a front arm which extends obliquely so that when its end has passed an abutment on the bottom part as the lid is opened it engages the top of the abutment to hold the lid open. As shown, the projection beam is reflected from a mirror 18 on to a translucent screen 47 mounted in an aperture in the hinged lid 12, the hinges are formed by brackets 38a having portions 38b apertured at 40 to engage pins projecting from the sides of the projector casing 26. Other parts 41 of the brackets, which are resilient, are bent somewhat outwardly and in the operative position of the lid, rest on inwardly projecting ledges at 21, formed on the walls of the casing. The lid of the casing is held closed by a catch 49 engaging a shoulder 20 in the handle 19.
