Abstract
725,884. Bronzing apparatus. MULLER, W. June 1, 1953 [June 3, 1952], No. 15270/53. Class 100 (2). Apparatus for bronzing, gilding or like metal powder applying operations comprises a container a for the bronze or other material, a scoop roller d forming the base of the container, and a number of plates e which are arranged to be moved independently of each other as well as in unison, towards and away from the scoop roller d to define an outlet of variable size. The plates e are mounted on a rod f and are moved in unison by means of a screw o interacting with a lever m, mounted on a rod k, and to which is secured a strip e which serves as a bearing for screws p by which the plates e may be individually moved. A strip g of felt is secured to a leaf-spring h which is covered by a plate i and which is secured to the bottom of each plate e. The scoop roller d is mounted on a shaft t and is driven at preferably half the speed of an application roller s by means of a gear transmission, power for which is derived from the main drive for the conveyer v which is driven preferably at twice the speed of the application roller. The application roller is covered with plush of about 6 mm. thickness.
