Abstract

725,564. Glazing. AUSTER, Ltd., and SMALL, W. W. Nov. 18, 1953 [Jan. 26, 1953], No. 2142/53. Class 20 (3). Means for securing a panel in a window aperture especially of a motor or like vehicle comprise a pair of opposed clamping bars 3, 4 which grip the panel 1 through rubber or like resilient strips 19, 27 on one side of screw means 30 and abut one another on the other side. The bars are located together by a rib 25 engaging a channel 15 and a flange 11 is provided to attach the bar to the window aperture surround 2. Preferably, the flange 11 is attached to a side face 9 and the edge of a flange 16 abuts the edge face 10 of the surround 2 and provides an abutment for the inturned edge 24 of the other bar 4. The rubber strips 19, 27 are preferably secured to the bars by beading 20, 28 and grooves 35 may be provided for plastic covering strips 36.
