In a voltage regulator of the type described in Specifications 661,872 or 654,116, in which a bridge network includes a diode as one element, the diode is that described in Specification 723,253, in which, on failure of the filament, a switch short-circuits the filament to the plate, thus reducing the high over-voltage produced across the load.
