Abstract

720,988. Roller bearings. BALL BEARING WORKS J. SCHMIDROOST, Ltd., SCHMID & CO., SUCCESSORS. June 5, [Feb. 13, 1953], No. 15524/53. Class 12 (1). A roller bearing cage is made of punched sheet metal and has side flanges 5, 6 which are guided on cylindrical surfaces 7, 8 provided on the inner race ring 1, the rollers 4 being held between the inner race 1 and openings 11 provided in a cylindrical part of the cage having a different radius than the flanges. The cage contacts a roller 4 at points lying outside a line A B drawn tangential to the pitch circle of the rollers. In a modification shown in Fig. 4 the cage is centred on the outer race with the rollers disposed between said cage and race.
