Abstract

718,938. Mounting and driving arrangement of electric motors. AKAI, S. Jan. 14, 1953, No. 1134/53. Class 35 A gramophone motor is enclosed in a two-part casing, one of which accommodates the motor driving a friction disc 12 through a worm gear 6, 7, and the other part of the casing containing a sliding wheel 15 which slides on and engages the friction disc 12, the wheel 15 being actuated by a leverage system so as to vary the point of engagement of the wheel 15 with the disc 12. The leverage system is operated by a handle 28, Fig. 1 (not shown) through a rod 24 and a lever 20. The wheel 15 has a shaft 8 on which the turntable is mounted.
