Abstract

Poly N-vinycarbazole is made by heating above its melting point solid N-vinylcarbazole which, in a form having a high surface area with respect to its volume, has been exposed to the action of air or oxygen, or heating non-exposed N-vinyl carbazole utilizing as catalyst a portion of the exposed material. The N-vinyl carbazole, preferably purified, may be exposed as shallow layers of crystals.
