Abstract
718,847. Nozzles; crop sprayers. ALLMAN PATENTS, Ltd. Sept. 15, 1953 [Sept. 25, 1952], No. 24074/52. Class 69 (3) A nozzle for emitting a fan-shaped spray stream comprises a cylindrical body 1, a cap 9, screwed thereto, and a spacer disc 5 provided with a concave or diverging deflecting edge 6. Liquid passes through a bore 2 and an outlet 3 and is discharged in spray form from the slot bounded by the smooth highly polished surfaces 4, 14 of the body and cap, and the edge 6. The disc may be replaced by discs having deflecting edges of different thickness or divergence. Alternatively the disc and cap are integral. A tractor spraying machine includes such nozzles adjustably mounted at the front and rear, and each nozzle is mounted at the end of a liquid supply tube 21, Fig. 18, The tube 21 is secured to a pedestal 23 which is fixed to a bracket 25 supported by an arm 27 bolted to a bracket 29.
