Abstract

718,282. Dry plate rectifiers. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Sept. 5, 1952, [Sept. 13, 1951.] No. 21535/51. Class 37. A dry contact rectifier has the counter electrode applied in two stages, first through a mask covering the mounting hole area and its surround, and part of the rectifying area, and then through a mask covering the mounting hole area and its surround and the part of the rectifier area already coated. Fig. 2 shows a suitable mask, through which the counter electrode is sprayed on to the selenium covered base plate of Fig. i. Dotted line 2 indicates the boundary for each element, and the mounting hole 6 is covered by portion 13 in the mask. A second mask having similar openings for the other half of each element, such as that indicated by the dotted line 8<SP>1</SP>, is used to complete the application of the counter electrode. The edges of the apertures in the masks may be chamfered. Specification 526,482 is referred to.
