Abstract

718,172. Apparatus for discharging receptacles. HOBSON, C. W. April 19, 1951 [April 19, 1950], No. 9662/50. Class 102 (2). [Also in Group XVII] Apparatus for dispensing pasty substances comprises a tubular collapsible member 17, shown in the form of a sac, having its open end closed by a plate 18 which is secured to a container 10 by a cap 31 which grips the flange 21. The sac is filled through an opening 22 surrounded by a boss 23 which engages a groove in the cap 31 to form a seal; the cap 31 has a discharge opening 34. The contents of the sac are dispensed by a plate 13 which is actuated through an opening 12 in the base of the container; the plate 13 has ribs guided in flutes in the container. For transport, before fitting to the container, the sac 17 is packed in a container or has reinforcements applied to the sides and.bottom. In a modified form, the plate 18 is attached directly to the container 10 and the opening 22 is closed by a disc having a discharge aperture. In a further modification, the tubular member 17 has an open bottom which is closed by a plate formed with the filling opening 22. The container 10 is fitted with a lid 35.
