Abstract

717,048. Mantle fittings. ALADDIN INDUSTRIES, Ltd., and IMBER, A. G. Sept. 12, 1952 [Nov 26, 1951], No. 27692/51. Class 75 (1) In an incandescent mantle fitting comprising a metal ring from the peripheral portion 1 of which the mantle 5 is supported, a substantially vertical annular inner portion 9 preferably forming the inner termination of the ring co-operates with the inner edge of a burner cone to locate the mantle fitting centrally of the cone. The ring comprises a vertical wall 6 depending from the peripheral portion 1 and constituting the outer wall of an annular trough the inner wall 8 of which is inclined upwards to form a shoulder 15 terminating in the vertical portion 9. The vertical portion 9 is provided with small projections 17 on its external surface which pass through slots in and engage inclined surfaces on the burner cone whereby the mantle fitting can be locked in position by a partial rotation. The outer peripheral portion 1 of the ring is formed to engage with a wall surrounding the burner cone and is formed with notches adapted to pass over tongues projecting inwardly from this wall whereby the mantle fitting can be locked in position by a partial rotation. A wire arch 3, from which the mantle is supported and a wire ring 10 preventing lateral displacement of the mantle are supported on lugs 2 formed on the outer portion 1 of the ring.
