Abstract
717,025. Washing vehicles. LAUNDRY TRANSPORT SERVICES, Ltd. April 23, 1953 [Dec. 15, 1952], No. 31710/52. Class 138 (1) A freely mobile self-contained vehicle washing apparatus comprises a base 1 provided with wheels 2 and a manoeuvring handle 3 (or handles), a water spraying tube 4 extending upwardly from the base 1 and having an upper substantially horizontal extension 5, the tubes 4, 5 having jet orifices formed therein at various angles throughout their length to wash a side and the top of a vehicle, and a water inlet 8, controlled by a valve 10 at the lower end of the tube 4, attachable by a flexible hose 9, to a water mains supply or tap. The tube 4 is supported on the base 1 by uprights 15, braces 17 and struts 16, and is connected at its lower end by a portion 6 to a horizontal spray tube 7 for washing the wheels, mudguards and lower portions of the vehicle. A branch connection 11 from the inlet 8 is controlled by a valve 14 and has attached thereto a hose 12 terminating in a hand nozzle 13. When not required for use the nozzle is held in a clip 18. Other clips may be provided on the uprights to support long handled cleaning brushes.
