716,963. Packaging; cartons. JACKSON, D. R. P., and MOLINS MACHINE CO., Ltd. June 3, 1952 [May 31, 1951], No. 12891/51. Classes 18 and 94 (1) In the manufacture of a block-ended package or carton from a blank in which the material to form each side tuck 3 is separated by slits from the material to form corresponding side flaps 4, 5, the blank is folded into a U about one end and two broad sides of a former, e.g. a batch of cigarettes, the tuck 3 is folded against a narrow side of the former, the flap 4 is bent back so as to lie substantially in the place of the narrow side, adhesive is applied to the inner surface of the flap and the outer surface of the tuck, e.g. along the lines 9 and 10, the flap 5 is folded against, and caused to adhere to, the tuck, and the flap 4 is then folded against the flap 5 and caused to adhere thereto.
