Abstract

716,389. Axial-flow blowers, pumps and turbines. DEMAG AKT.-GES. Jan. 17, 1952 [Jan. 18, 1951], No. 1433/52. Classes 110(1) and 110(3) In axial-flow blowers, pumps, turbines and the like, the impeller or rotor comprises a continuous outer rim and an intermediate rim between the outer rim and the hub, the blade pins being received by the outer rim and supported by the intermediate rim so that the latter serves as an abutment for the centrifugal forces on the blades. The stem 6 of each blade 5 is retained in a sleeve 15 by a bolt 17 or a bayonet-or other quick-release fastening. The sleeve 15 is joumaled in an outer rim 4 and an intermediate rim 7 bf the impeller 2, the centrifugal force on the blade 5 being taken, through a thrust bearing 16, by the rim 7. A blade-pitch adjusting member 9 is connected to each sleeve 15 by a lever 11. The sleeve 15 may be omitted. The blades may be non-adjustable.
