Abstract

A composition comprises an elastomeric diisocyanate modified polyester or polyesteramide as claimed in any one of Specifications 694,978, 694,982, 696,449 or 696,450 and (a) chlorinated paraffin wax (preferably 2-5 per cent. by weight) or (b) polychloroprene (preferably 0.25-5 per cent. by weight) or (c) white factice (preferably 0.5-30 per cent. by weight) obtained by reacting sulphur chloride with a vegetable or fish oil. In examples a polyester made from adipic acid, ethylene glycol and 1, 2- propylene glycol is modified with 4, 41-diphenyl diisocyanate or 2, 4-tolylene diisocyanate. The resulting elastomers are then mixed with one of the above additives and with 4, 41-diphenylene diisocyanate or 1, 5-naphthalene diisocyanate and the mixture cured by heating to temperatures ranging from 240 DEG F.-320 DEG F.
