711,574. Digital electric calculating apparatus. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Nov. 24, 1950 [Nov. 28, 1949], No. 8401/52. Divided out of 711,561. Drawings to Specification. Class 106 (1) Electrical equipment for use in electric calculating apparatus &c. comprises a plurality of storage devices, a distributer having a number of outputs corresponding to respective settings of the storage devices, means for applying pulses to the distributer to step it through a predetermined cycle during which the outputs are successively energized, and means for generating successive sets of pulse trains, each occurring during a part of the predetermined cycle and being generated under the control of one of the storage devices and an output from the distributer, the duration of a pulse train controlled by a storage device being determined by the time in the predetermined cycle at which the output from the distributer which corresponds to the setting of that storage device is energized, the arrangement being such that during any one cycle of the distributer a set of pulse trains can be generated under the control of a number of the storage devices equal to the number of pulse trains in that set. The detailed description is the same as that of Specification 711,561, but the claims are different. Specification 692,415 also is referred to.
