Abstract

711,170. Saw-tooth generating circuits. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. Sept. 12, 1952 [Jan. 1, 1952], No. 96/52. Class 40 (6) In a saw tooth generator comprising a driving value 'feeding an inductive output circuit from which energy is recovered to boost the H.T. supply, a feedback circuit consisting of a resistor and a capacitor in series connected between the screen and control grid of the driving valve. The circuit shown comprises a square wave generator V3 feeding a driver valve having an output transformer connected to a damping valve and an H.T. boost capacitor. The driving valve is operated below the knee of the anode-volts, anode-current characteristic and in order to reduce the screen grid current a feedback circuit Cl, R1 is provided to reduce the control grid voltage during the early part of the scan to the lowest value consistent with this mode of operation. The square wave generator V3 may be a blocking oscillator having its anode and control grid or screen and control grid regeneratively coupled and the feedback circuit may alternatively be connected to the left-hand side of the blocking capacitor 3, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown).
