Abstract
710,582. Wadding. SOC. ANON. DES MANUFACTURES DES GLACES ET FRODUITS CHIMIQUES DE ST.- GOBAIN, CHAUNY, & CIREY. Feb. 13, 1952 [Feb. 13, 1951] No. 3873/52. Class 142(4) [Also in Groups V, XIII and XXV] Fibres of glass or other thermoplastic and undulating material are carried by a current of gas on to a conical surface 1 of wire mesh having at the apex a forming cone 3 into which the fibres are drawn and compressed, being withdrawn through an exit 4 in the form of a rope by drawing means and " netted" by an apparatus 8. In a modification the mesh surface 1 and cone 3 are each formed with a recess which acts as a guide for a tissue of glass fibres on which the fibres are deposited and which envelops the 'fibres issuing from the exit, which is provided 'with a tongue for adjusting the degree of compression.
