Class 40 (4) [Also in Group XXXVIII] In a telephone ringer (see Group XXXVIII), for use in a system in which ringing A.C. is supplied over the line wires from a generator 31 at the exchange, the coils 8, 9 are connected either in series or in parallel between the line wires and rectifiers 20, 21 are connected in the first case in shunt with and in the second in series with the coils.
