Abstract

708,239. Mops; squeegees. CROWE, G.E.W. Dec. 24, 1952, No. 32760/52. Class 19 In a self-wringing mop a pad 10 of sponge material is mounted on a flexible backing 11, e.g. canvas, provided-with means for securing it detachably to two rigid supporting plates 15, 16 between which the pad may be folded and squeezed. The securing means comprises bolts 13, 14, one pair of which, 13, serves also to attach the pad to a backing plate 26 carrying a handle socket 32. An arm 35 for use in squeezing the pad, is riveted to the plate 16 and when not in use, is held by a clip 37. A channel 17, is formed in the outer edge of the plate 15 which, together with a similarly-formed top plate 19 holds a squeegee 24. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 697,400 and 709,776.
