707,516. Drilling. APPARATEBAU BURKHARDT GES. Aug. 29, 1952 [Sept, 1, 1951], No. 21719/52. Class 83 (3) A drilling machine has compound work tables 7, 9 hydraulically adjustable by cylinders 8 10 to which. fluid under pressure is supplied by a single pump 6 driven by a motor 2 from which drives, for other parts of the machine are also derived. The spindle head 12 may be fed slowly or rapidly at right angles to the tables by a cylinder 13 under either manual or automatic control, the latter effecting reversal of the feed at an adjustable point. For accurate final adjustment of the hydraulically-moved parts, a small two-cylinder reciprocating pump, preferably hand-operated, supplies pressure through a control valve to the part to be adjusted ; the suction side of the pump is preferably connected with a pipe-line that is under slight pressure, such as the discharge line from the main pump: The spindle may be rotated by belt and toothed gearing, as shown, from the motor 2 or by a hydraulic motor supplied by the pump 6.
