707,194. Belt polishing. MORRIS, Ltd., B.O. April 15, 1953 [May 8, 1952], No. 11618/52. Class 60 In a bench or other polishing machine of the kind having a driven polishing belt 21 passing round a contact wheel 19 and a tensioning wheel 11, the latter has flanges 23, 23 and a crowned periphery 25 whereby the belt is tracked on to the contact wheel when an appropriate speed is reached; the tensioning wheel is of greater axial length than the width of the belt so that when the appropriate speed is reached the edges of the belt are well clear of the flanges. The tensioning wheel 11 is journalled on a spindle 12 supported by a pivoted arm 13 carrying at its free end a weight to apply the necessary bias to the tensioning wheel.
