Abstract
A brazing or soldering alloy consists of Cr 5-20 per cent., Mn 35-63 per cent. and Ni 32-50 per cent. The alloy is preferably made from electrolytic manganese and electrolytic nickel. The constituents are melted in a sillimanite crucible under nitrogen and the alloy cast in a copper mould; the nickel may be melted first and some or all of the chromium added before adding as a de-oxidizer about .01 per cent. of visional Specification, 20-65 per cent. Mn and 15-45 per cent. Ni may be included in the alloy.
