706,252. Quilts. CROSSLAND HUGHES & CO., Ltd., and MACKENZIE, E. D. Feb. 19, 1952 [Feb. 20, 1951], No. 4159/51. Class 142(4) The upper surface 2 of a quilt is of larger area than the lower surface 1 so that, when filled, the puffed effect on the upper surface is greater than that on the lower surface. Both surfaces are lined with a down-proof material 4, which may be of Egyptian cotton, and an intermediate. layer 3, which may be of semi-stiff cambric, lies between them. The layer 3 may not extend into a border portion of the quilt; the border may or may not be filled. The puffed effect may extend over the whole of the quilt or a quilting effect may be obtained by lines of stitches or eyelets 6.
