Class 39(1) An electrostatic precipitator comprises a shell 1 divided by a partition 2 into two chambers 3, 4 one for upward gas flow, and one for downward flow, and a diffuser plate 5 above the partition equalizes the flow of gas between the chambers. The collecting electrodes in each chamber are mounted in echelon as shown. The collecting electrodes may be composed of inclined shoots.
