Abstract
700,313. Cathode materials and processing. CROMPTON PARKINSON, Ltd. Jan. 15, 1952 [Jan. 25, 1951], No. 1960/51. Class 39(1) An electron-emitting surface contains not more than 10 per cent, preferably 6-8 per cent, by weight of the carbonate of the alkaline earth metal contained in the surface. The surface may be applied with a binder, or inserted in the form of a pellet, in a heater coil. The pellet may be formed by heating the material together with a flux such as silica, and the cathode may be used in a cathoderay tube or fluorescent lamp.
