Abstract

699,123. Animal pens. BEATTY BROS., Ltd. April 30, 1951 [Dec. 30, 1950], No. 10019/51. Class 20(i) [Also in Groups I and XVII] A connecting member for panels 10, 11 of an animal pen comprises a column 12 having attached at its top, by a bolt 17, a plate 13 having means, e.g. flanges 14, for engaging the panels 10, 11. The bolt 17 passes through a hole 16 in the plate 13 and screws into a closure 21 welded in the top of the column 12 which is hollow and which is secured at its bottom end to a member carrying a sill which engages the panels 10, 11. The bolt 17 has threaded parts 18, 19 with a smooth part 20 intervening, of such length as to permit the plate 13 to be disengaged from the panels 10, 11 without completely removing the bolt 17. Instead of flanges 14, downwardly projecting lugs or pins may be provided on the plate 13, and the connecting member may be shaped to engage colinearly arranged panels, instead of panels arranged at right angles.
