Class 120(iii) A clip device comprises' a resilient member 1 adapted to embrace and hold at least the last winding of thread on a reel from slipping, the member having one or both ends formed with a notch 2 to locate the free end of thread adjacent the last winding so that when the thread is unwound by pulling on its free end in one direction or the other and allowing the reel to rotate about its axis the member rides axially along the reel and continues to hold the last winding, and one or more lugs as at 3 to prevent undesired rolling of the reel and to facilitate manipulation of the device.
