Abstract
698,796. Protective cut-out arrangements. COMPAGNIE POUR LA FABRICATION DES COMPTEURS ET MATERIEL D'USINES A GAZ. Sept. 9, 1949 [Dec. 28, 1948], No. 23410/49. Class 38 (v) [Also in Group XL(a)] The high voltage generator of an electrostatic precipitator is protected against leakage currents arising across the insulator for the high voltage electrode lead-in conductor due to contamination by dust. The insulator 2 is mounted in a metal collar 6 which is insulated at 7 from the precipitator housing. When the insulator becomes conductive the relay 8 operates to switch off the high voltage generator and to actuate a warning device. A battery 10 provides current to operate the relay 8 if the insulator at 7 becomes conductive. A voltage limiting device 12 is provided across the relay 8.
