Abstract
Articles of a heat-resisting alloy are heat treated in a bath of boric-cryolite. The bath may consist of 85-95 per cent boric p anhydride and 5-15 per cent cryolite and may be maintained at a temperature of 1050 DEG -1070 DEG F or may be used at 700 DEG C for steel and 950 DEG C for nickel. After heating the article may be washed in water at 95 DEG C, then in cold water and finally in water at 95 DEG C. The hot wash water may contain caustic soda. Specifications 588,552, 673,901, 674,723 and 674,724 are referred to.
