697,994. Shelf fittings. MICHEL, G. April 12, 1951 [April 13, 1950], No. 8501/52. Class 52(i) [Also in Group XVIII] A display and storage holder for packages 11 arranged in a row on a platform 8 comprises a fixed abutment 9, a movable abutment 1 and a spiral spring 4 tending to wind itself up and adapted to be drawn out and having one end connected to the movable abutment and the other end to the platform. The spring is connected to the platform near the abutment 9 and retains the packages between the abutments. Guides 12 which fit into an aperture at one end and a notch at the other so that they are detachable, restrain lateral movement of the packages. In an alternative construction a web 19 carrying slats 18 and a member 20 is mounted on rollers 24, 27, and is connected to a spring 21. Packages rest on the slats 18 and are urged by the member 20 under the pressure of spring 21 against an abutment 26.
