A shirt or other sleeved garment has the armhole cut with its edge 1, 2, Fig. 2, running downwardly from the yoke straight or slightly concave for about half its length and then sweeping outwardly and upwardly in a curve 1b to meet the side seam 4 of the garment at 9. The sleeve, Fig. 5, is cut symetrically about its longitudinal centre line which is preferably parallel to the selvedge 13 so that the edges 11, 11a are on the bias of the material.
