Abstract
695,992. Bolted joints. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd. March 12, 1951 [March 13, 1950; March 13, 1950], No. 5871/51. Class 83 (iv). [Also in Groups XXV and XXXIV] In a detachable disc wheel, the bolt-on holes are located at the bottoms of non-circular depressions in which bearing-members in the form of corresponding non-circular washers are seated to distribute the thrust of the attachment nuts. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the depressions 3 and the bearing-members 9 are of square pyramidal form, small clearances 10 being provided at the circumferentially - extend - ing and base-portions of the depressions whereby a locking effect is produced by the deformation of the disc on tightening the nuts 7. In modifications, the depressions are of hexagonal or ovoid form, and the bearing members are swivelly mounted on the nuts.
