Abstract
695,986. Dividing by fusion. HOGGETT, YOUNG & CO., Ltd. Sept. 13, 1951 [Feb. 20, 1951], No. 4163/51. Class 83 (iv). A movable support 2 for the nozzle of a metalcutting torch comprises an arcuate bridge member 1 carried upon wheels 6, and a number of radicallyextending apertures 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d in said arcuate member for receiving the spigot 3 of the support 2, whereby the angle at which the nozzle is supported with respect to the surface upon which the wheels 6 rest can be varied and the point to which the cutting flame is directed and applied lies outside that part of the said surface contained between the wheels. Grub screws 9 lock the spigot 3 in the apertures 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d. The bridge member has a lateral horizontally bored extension 14 for the spigot 3 when it is desired to direct the nozzle at right angles to the work surface. The Provisional Specification states that the bridge may be graduated to indicate the angular setting of the nozzle.
