Class 87(i) In jolleying a pottery article, such as a fruit bowl, having a sharply defined rim, in a mould on an automatic or semi-automatic machine, shaping is effected in two stages by profile tools which are formed so that the article is first shaped with the bowl portion too thick and the rim portion too thin, and that clay is then forced outwards into the rim to produce the desired thickness of bowl and rim. Specifications 563,734 and 579,291 are referred to.
