Abstract
695,786. Resilient mountings for seats. FERGUSON, Inc., H. Sept. 21, 1949 [Sept. 25, 1948], No. 24242/49. Class 52(i) In a tractor seat the seat pan is arranged on the preferably resilient support so that it may, by means of hinge members, be moved rearwardly and then swung into an out-of-way position while the driver is standing on the tractor. The seat pan 20 is provided with a bracket 37 to which a hinge leaf 26 is hinged at 36 the other end of the hinge leaf 26 being hinged at 30 to a bracket 32 secured to the U-shaped resilient suport 21 which is mounted on, and bolted to by bolts 23, the tractor. In moving the seat pan to out-of-way position it is moved rearwardly causing the hinge pivot 36 to move along the circular path 27, Fig. 3, taking the hinge leaf 26 with it. Continued movement of the seat pan 20 inverts it into the position shown in Fig. 4. The bracket 32 has side wings or flanges which serve as spaced rests for the seat pan which also has a rubber buffer 40.
