Abstract
In a method of producing malleable iron castings adapted to be easily welded, by the so-called European process, iron with contents of 2.7-3.0 per cent C; 0.25-0.35 per cent Si; 0.70-0.85 per cent Mn; 0.06-0.12 per cent P; 0.02-0.06 per cent S and the remainder iron is cast and annealed above the graphitizing temperature and in the range 950-1100 DEG C, preferably at 1020-1070 DEG C.
