694,841. Dustbin covers. LINDE, H. Dec. 13, 1951, No. 29267/51. Class 26 In a dustbin 1 with hinged cover 2, the hinge is fixed by a pin 8 which is either secured in two holes 17 in flanges 13 attached to the cover and bears in two holes 10 in lugs 5 attached to the bin for preventing removal of the lid, or, as shown, is secured in alternative holes in the flanges 13 and engages bearings 7 and 9 in the lugs, from which it can easily be removed for removal of the cover before emptying. The lugs 5 may be welded to an angle-iron flange 3 extending round the bin, and the bearings 7 and 9 allow removal of the cover by making the bearing 7 open and the bearing 9 large enough to allow oblique removal of the pin 8. One of the lugs may carry a stop in the form of an inwardly-bent portion 19 for maintaining the cover in the open position.
