Abstract
694,644. Making cartons. BRITISH MILK CARTON CO., Ltd. June 7, 1951 [June 9, 1950], No. 14462/50. Class 18 A former for making polygonal tubular carton bodies and having grooves to accommodate creases in the body material, has concave sides so that, as the body forming blank is wound round the former, the finished body will have a perimeter greater than that of the former were it flat sided. The body may thus be stripped from the former, without hindrance by engagement between the grooves and the creases. The roller 5, which presses the blank against the rotating former, may have ridges 4 to co-operate with'the former grooves 3 to create the body. Alternatively the body blank may have been previously creased.
