Abstract
694,334. Cigarette trays. MORRIS, J. E., and MOLINS MACHINE CO., Ltd. Jan. 1, 1952 [Dec. 14, 1950], No. 30547/50. Class 66 The invention relates to modifications of cigarette trays of the type described in Specification 675, 218 in order that soft or cork-tipped cigarettes may be more satisfactorily packed thereon. According to the invention cigarette trays are provided with division plates 4 for subdividing the length of the tray. The plates are preferably made readily detachable so that the trays may be used without them and may be slotted in the same way, and for the same reasons, as described in the abovementioned Specification. To further assist in preventing crushing a false bottom 5 shaped to rest on the bottom of the slots may be provided to reduce the depth of the tray. Corrugations to receive and render parallel the bottom row of cigarettes may be provided on the bottom (or if used, false bottom) of the tray. These corrugations are formed in lengths of extruded strip 6 which may if desired form the feet of the division plates 4 as shown. Specification 649,467, [Group XXX], also is referred to.
