691,959. Automatic lathes. CONE AUTOMATIC MACHINE CO., Inc. April 17, 1950, No. 26843/51. Divided out of 691,919. (Drawings to Specification.) Class 83 (iii). A single spindle automatic lathe comprises a work spindle, an indexing tool-carrying turret, a number of tool carriers arranged in spaced relation on the turret and adapted to be brought successively into operative angular relation to work on said spindle by indexing of the turret, means for moving relative to the turret, in a direction parallel to the spindle towards and away from the work, that tool carrier only which is in the operative angular position relative to the work at any one time, and mechanism for rocking said turret about its indexing axis when a tool carried by said tool carrier is in engagement with the work. The subject-matter of this Specification is substantially the same as that of Specification 691,919, but the claims differ. Specifications 618,417, 634,518 and 691,958, also are referred to.
