Abstract
690,637. Beaded, curled and wired sheetmetal edges. JACOB & CO., Ltd., W. & R., MOON BROS., Ltd., and SARGEANT, W. R. June 4, 1951 [Sept. 19, 1950], No. 22920/50. Class 83 (ii). [Also in Group XVII] A rectangular sheetmetal container, such as a biscuit tin, is formed along the edges of its mouth with an outwardly curled bead, and the walls of the container immediately under the bead are formed as a shoulder so that the outer periphery of the bead is substantially flush with the side walls of the container. A strengthening band 12 may be inserted before curling, and a sealing means may be applied in the recess 14.
