689,558. Injection - moulding dentures. BROWNING, W. W., and BROWNING'S LABORATORY & SUPPLY CO., Ltd. Jan. 11, 1952; No. 954/52. Class 87 (ii). A wax model of the denture is invested in the usual way in plaster in a dental flask comprising upper and lower parts 1, 2, and at the same time a sprue hole is formed in the plaster by means of a rod 11. This rod forms part of a screw-threaded member 12 which screws into a screw-threaded bore 10a in the flask part 2. During investment of the model the rod 11 abuts an edge of the model or a sprue part or parts formed of wax. The wax is boiled out, rod 11 is removed, the flask halves clamped together by means of wedges 7, 8, and an injecting gun 15 filled with acrylic resin is screwed into the bore 10a, as shown in Fig. 3. The mould space is then filled with the gun, the gun is removed, and the rod 11 is replaced and screwed in tight to maintain pressure on the material in the mould and compensate for shrinkage. The mould and rod are then placed in hot water to cure the denture.
