Abstract

689,414. Soldering and brazing. BOSCH GES., R. Jan. 1, 1951 [Jan. 2, 1950], No. 7/51. Class 83 (iv). Metal sheets are connected ready for soldering or brazing by placing them together with soldering or brazing metal between them and commonly deforming them at spaced positions so that the cut edges of portions pressed out of one sheet penetrate clampwise between the cut edges left by the corresponding portions pressed out of the other sheet. In an embodiment a sheet 10 provided with grooves 12 is placed upon a flat sheet 11 and pairs of cuts 14 are made through the sheets 10, 11. The strips between the cuts 14 are pressed upwards thus securing the sheets 10, 11. Solder 16 is arranged in the grooves 12. The upper strip between the cuts 14, Fig. 5, may be burred over the lower portion.
