Abstract

687,835. Handbags. WOLF, W. Nov. 12, 1951 [Oct. 4, 1951], No. 23141/51. Class 133. Means for securing handles to bags &c. such as lady's handbags comprises a shell 1 formed with a top 2 sides which are inturned at 3 and provided with tongues 4 for securing the shell to the bag. The shell has an open end 6 and a depending lip 5. The handle end 7 is clinched in a clip 8 provided with a resilient catch element 8a so that when the handle end is passed through the opening 6 the catch element 8a is first depressed by the tip 5 and then, having passed it, springs out to prevent the removal of the handle end. The other end of the handle is similarly secured. The tongues 4 pass through apertures in a metal plate 10 and bent up against said plate.
