687,012. Centrifugal separators. KNECHT GES. June 9, 1950 [July 30, 1949], No. 14420/50. Class 23 A dust separator, particularly for internal combustion engines, comprises a frusto-conical body 5 having a tangential inlet 3, dust outlets 10 adjacent the larger end of the body, an axial cleaned gas outlet pipe 2 communicating with an expansion chamber 13 at the smaller end of the body, and a pipe 1 to lead the cleaned gas from the expansion chamber. The separator has two dust outlets and an annular shield 11 is provided to direct discharging dust away from the separator inlet or inlets.
