686,699. Furniture frames. SHRAGER BROS., Ltd., and SHRAGER, B. June 1, 1951 [June 1, 1950], No. 13734/50. Class 52(ii) [Also in Group XXIII] Furniture comprises a wooden panel bent by being formed with recess 4 along the bending line, in which recess is inserted a block 5, to provide a former around which the panel may be bent, the block then being rigidly secured in place. Sides 4<SP>1</SP> of the recess are normal to the surface of the panel and the corresponding sides 5<SP>2</SP> of the block 5 are undercut as shown. Slots 6, if provided, are preferably of a depth greater than half the thickness of the block and receive excess adhesive and provide a key. The corners 4<SP>2</SP> and 5<SP>3</SP> are preferably rounded. The panel may be composed of blocks 3 between members 2. The blocks may be formed of plywood.
