684,505. Cycle brakes. PHILLIPS & CO., Ltd., J. A. May 1, 1951 [May 2, 1950], No. 10760/50. Class 136 (i) In a calliper lever cycle brake the levers 10, 11 are provided with fixed abutments 16 which allow the ends of the spring 15 to slide relatively to them as the brake levers are operated. Each abutment has a cylindrical stem so that the spring 15 will have only point contact with it, thus reducing the friction to a minimum. Heads are provided on the stems to retain the spring. The stems are either welded or screwed into the levers 10, 11.
